An IBMer I know told me a story of some IBM execs visiting Apple in the early 2000’s for some personal negotiations with Steve Jobs over the fate of the PowerPC in Apple products. The discussions were quite contentious with Jobs, who had a number of demands that did not fit at all with IBM’s strategy (Apple eventually abandoned IBM and switched to Intel). When the lunch cart was rolled in and they broke to eat, Steve personally served everyone in the room.
